Redmi’s 16GB RAM With 6200mah Battery And 100MP of DSLR Like Camera

So we’re not even a couple of weeks into 2025 yet and we’ve already had a couple of big-budget phone launches: the Automagic 7 Light and the Poco X7 Pro. Now, they’ve been joined by one of the most hotly anticipated wallet-friendly smartphones, the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus. Every year, the Redmi Note series offers some impressively beefy hardware, often beating what you’ll find in a lot of flagship phones, but all for a price that won’t utterly skint you. The Redmi’s 16GB RAM With 6200mah Battery is the Mac Daddy of these new Note 14 phones, but what’s actually changed up from the previous generation? Is it still the absolute budget champion? Let’s whip it out of the box, take an extensive tour, test the gaming and camera tech, and all that good stuff.

Unboxing and What’s in the Box

What do you get in the box besides, of course, the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus? The good news is Xiaomi is still bundling power adapters with its smartphones, and what a whopper it is: a proper full-on 120W brick. You also get a Type-C to Type-A USB cable, and Xiaomi has kindly chucked in a condom case to keep your Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus safe from harm. Pretty tasty package all around.

Design and Build Quality

Not too many surprises when it comes to the design of the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus. It certainly looks like a Pro Plus phone. It’s a 6.67-inch smartphone with pretty skinny bezels surrounding the screen. The back curves gently around the edges, which helps add comfort. The vegan leather back feels really nice against your hands, and you won’t have to deal with greasy fingerprints. There’s also a camera bump that juts out a bit but serves as a handy finger shelf.

Durability and Resistance

The Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus has a sturdy construction. You’ve got Victus 2 Gorilla Glass up front, so it should be scratch- and shatter-resistant if dropped. There’s also a pre-installed screen protector, but no metal frame here; just a bog-standard plastic one. Thankfully, the device is fully IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, so it should survive a bath or a dunk in a pool with ease.

Display

The Note 14 Pro Plus display technology is basically the same as the one that was previously in last year’s model. It is actually a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution size of 2712 x 1220, offering a very nice poppy and crisp display featuring full Dolby Vision and HDR10 support. There is an improvement in brightness over last year’s version, but comparing it to the 13 Pro Plus, I still didn’t find much difference. At 120Hz refresh rate maxed out but can be tuned according to preferences at 60Hz or 120Hz.

Face Unlocking and Fingerprint Sensor

The Note 14 Pro Plus sports an in-display optical fingerprint sensor located near the bottom of the screen. It’s fast and responsive, but I would have preferred it placed a bit higher for ease of use. No worries if you have greasy hands, as you’ve got face unlock as a backup.

Software and User Experience

With Xiaomi’s MIUI-based HyperOS, the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus comes pre-installed with Android 14. It has become very light in comparison to earlier versions of MIUI, but still has some bloatware that you can disable quickly. There is so much to customize and feature AI such as real-time translation, transcription of meetings, among much more.

Performance and Gaming

With choices for 8GB or 12GB of RAM, the Note 14 Pro Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 CPU.. In day-to-day use, it’s battery smooth, but gaming performance isn’t flawless. Titles like Genshin Impact can run on high settings, but you’ll notice frame rate drops during intense action. It doesn’t heat up much even during longer gaming sessions, thanks to efficient cooling.

Battery Life and Charging

This phone has a 5110 mAh battery, which is slightly smaller than a few rivals. However, it easily lasts for a day of moderate gaming and camera use. The phone supports 120W fast charging, which can charge it from 0 to 100% in a little less than 30 minutes. There is no wireless charging, though.

Camera Technology

The camera configuration used for the Note 14 Pro Plus is almost identical to what was found in last year’s device. A 200MP main shooter with Optical Image Stabilization is part of this setup. While there are not many improvements on the setup, it is still a Phone capable of shooting worthy pictures even if most of the photos would come out looking soft or overly sharpened in portrait shots. The 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro is just mediocre, and there is only 4K at 30fps for video recording.

Conclusion: Should You Upgrade?

Existing owners of the previous generation have little impetus to switch over to this Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus as very little has been added to the device. Well, if you are switching from somewhere farther back such as an inherited or older smartphone, this will certainly prove as a good budget option with many premium-like features that will impress your friends, especially the fast charging. Gamers might not have a total win at the performance, but overall, it just could be your best option yet for value without shelling out much. Follow for more updates on Tech Education.
